My name is Janee, and beer is my entire life. It has been for a long time. My journey in beer has changed incredibly in recent years, from opening Forgotten Road Ales on May 11, 2019, to being diagnosed with a rare eosinophilic disease a year prior where I have an IgG (delayed) food allergy... to beer. I've found that, as in life, the most important things in the beer industry are chasing what you love, fighting hard for what you believe in, and being a good human. This is my journey through it all. From the simple days of homebrewing and beercations and hops tattoos, to my journey to become a Certified Cicerone, my wedding at a brewery, my struggle working for an already culturally-corrupt brewery that was purchased by Anheuser-Busch InBev, to building my own damn tiny empire at Forgotten Road Ales. This is my story. It is unapologetic. Unfiltered. And it's mine. I hope it inspires others to fight. I hope it inspires others to drink good beer.
